Prolific Media Group UK
In 1997, we engaged in a simple, internal corporate project for The Disney Store, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, with whom we are also stock holders. 1999 saw us undertake our second, yet nonetheless pivotal, low key project. On this occasion working for Richard Branson's Virgin Group subsidiary, Virgin Trains. Here we developed and designed a range of crew uniforms. Although the designs were not finally used, this provided further, valuable experience for us, particularly with the next project, which we embarked upon in 2001 for West Midlands' public transport group, Centro. Between 2001 and 2003, we developed and designed a number of projects, which included staff uniforms, artwork for staff training manuals, and customer relations hand outs for the public. During the summer of 2004, our direction began to change slightly, when we were approached to work with an aspiring pop artist, named Baz, who at the time had just completed a hugely successful, sell-out UK arena tour with girl group, Atomic Kitten. We worked with Baz on numerous projects including, amongst other things, a full creative consultancy package, comprising art direction and web design in addition to providing a full A&R service. To enable us to undertake such a broad task, required us to form liaisons with numerous, highly talented organisations; this inadvertently led to the formation of the Prolific Media Group. The group, encompassing highly skilled musicians and web designers, work freelance on their own work in addition to supporting Prolific Media Group (PMG) with developing numerous projects tailored to suit the needs of each client. The group also incorporates a small in-house publishing section called First Degree Music. Further expansion occurred in 2005, when the children's television production company, Building Blocs Productions, joined the Prolific Media family. Our progression and expansion to becoming one of the UK 's most formative production and design studios was further propelled in 2005, when we were approached by PWL Radio, at the time the brand new digital radio station of legendary pop music impresario and broadcast pundit, Pete Waterman. Our work with PWL, which once had Kylie Minogue signed to its record label (1987-1992); a label which dominated the charts throughout the 80's, selling over a 100 million records and which to date has been responsible for the fruition of over 40 worldwide number 1 hits, including 3 in the USA, has been comprehensive and varied. Amongst other tasks, we were commissioned to write the official press release for the station's launch, as well as providing written content for the official PWL websites. We also instigated, developed and designed several marketing campaigns to actively promote PWL Radio as an exclusive brand of the PWL Empire. Since then we have progressed in all facets in our operations, forging strong bonds with the children's broadcast divisions of both the BBC and Five, not to mention a selection of production partners both in television animation and commercial music. The dynamics of Prolific Media ensue so that we're able to competitively cater for both large corporations as well as smaller independents. As a progressive organisation, we are continuously developing and expanding our portfolio and are in the midst of a range of exciting new projects. Carl M. Cox
Originating from the city of Wolverhampton in the West Midlands , Carl is now based in the neighbouring town of Walsall as is the Prolific Media Group which he masterminded from being a simple A-Level media studies project in October 1996 to a leading UK studio, where clients have included Disney, Virgin, Pete Waterman Limited and the BBC amongst others. In his personal time, apart from being an astute political commentator and being completely obsessed with pop music- Stock Aitken Waterman, The Bee Gees, Andersson & Ulveaus, Tennant & Lowe, Howard Ashman, Burt Bacharach and Neil Sedaka being firm favourites, Carl is a serious transport enthusiast! He loves buses, trains and aeroplanes, and says one of his biggest regrets was never taking the opportunity to fly Concorde, a hallmark in Anglo-French aviation history. A perfectionist to even the most miniscule of detail, Carl places quality of service and quality of product at the nucleus of the groups' operations, and his uncompromising stance towards ensuring that everything that bears the Prolific Media name be of the utmost quality, resonates throughout everything that both he and the group do. |
