About
Prolific Media Group UK (PMG) started life in October 1995 as a design studio working with, amongst others, The Walt Disney Company, Virgin Group, BBC TV, and PWL (Pete Waterman Limited).
In 2003 we moved into more diverse media territories like television and the area of our greatest strength, music production. We signed our first artist, Baz, in 2004 and later saw our first commercial releases in 2007. In the same year we were responsible for two Number 1 club chart singles and two Top 5 club albums.
The group was restructured in 2007 to ensure that we were focused on our key business areas, music and design with the design studio serving as an ancillary unit for the music studio. At the same time we began working with 80’s pop princess and TV celebrity, Sinitta, writing and recording new material for her.
With the restructure complete, in 2008 we were one of the first to team up with hit producer and world renown "Mixmaster", Pete Hammond- former chief engineer at Pete Waterman Limited- and popular showbiz reporter, Neil Sean. At the close of the year, we also began working with legendary disco icon, Amanda Lear.
Capitalising on the success of 2008, and in addition to our work with Amanda Lear and Sinitta, 2009 saw us working with pop pin up, Samatha Fox, whilst working in partnership with Sony Music and VH1 Europe amongst many others.
2010 was another boom year for us. We commenced work on a second Amanda Lear album whilst working with music legends Mari Wilson, Tina Charles and Boy George. In the studio, we joined forces with another hit production duo, Dave Ford & Ian Curnow, together co-writing and co-producing new material for Tina Charles and remixing for Amanda Lear. Other remix work came in from Sweden, for the artist Belle, from Italy for Deadstar and in the UK for Hazell Dean. Neil Sean came to us to record a new version of the 'Coronation Street' theme tune, "Sing Me A Memory" with a full orchestra from Latvia. Our publishing arm, First Degree Music was involved in songs for 'X Factor' and 'Popstar To Opera star' winner, Joe McElderry.
We hit the ground running in 2011, kicking off the year with a project for Maycon Productions in association with Tesco Entertainment, remixing several of the songs from their 'Coronation Street: Rogues, Angels, Heroes & Fools' album, working on tracks from stars such as Katherine Kelly and Kym Marsh. Hazell Dean's single which included two PMG mixes was released on Valentine's Day and we are preparing for the release of the eagerly awaited new single from Tina Charles. First Degree Music has been working to expand our publishing catalogue and has signed a couple of new writers with some promising new songs.
PMG is a genuine success story that has many more chapters to come.
